This is a long story with a happy ending began in 2001, when Anna and Marcelino were married. In a few years, they heard a terrible diagnosis – infertility.
For Anna and Marcelino, surrogacy was the only way to become a parent. They have chosen a program that includes two mandatory visits to Ukraine. The first – to meet a surrogate mother, sign contracts and submit biological materials. The second – to be present at the birth.
According to the laws of Ukraine, the names of genetic parents are indicated in the child’s birth certificate, even if they were carried out by the surrogate. The father uses a DNA test to prove his kinship with the child. The embassy issues a child’s passport on the basis of a certificate and DNA. The child receives citizenship of the country in which his parents live.
