Ovulation is a period of cycle when mature egg able for fertilization gets from ovaries into abdominal cavity. It usually occurs periodically each 21-35 days depending on the gonadotropic and follicular hormones. Constant rhythm of ovulation is changed during 3 months after abortion, one year after childbirth and pre-climax period (when woman is over 40). Ovulation stops while pregnancy and after extinction of menstrual functions. Ovulation and contraception
For many women ovulation is peak of sexually excitability. How to become pregnant with anovulation?
Absence of ovulation might be treated by ovarian stimulation after which woman gets pregnant on her own. If ovarian stimulation doesn’t help, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is required. If IUI attempt failed, infertility specialists suggest to try IVF.
There are several signs of ovulation. Some of them like short-time aches in the underbelly are subjective. Increase of rheum from vagina, decrease of basal temperature on the day of ovulation and its increase on the next day, increase of progesterone in blood ect refer to the objective signs. Disorders of such a process might be caused by dysfunctions of ovaries, inflammation of genitals, problems with thyroid gland, stress, tumors of hypophysis.
